The purpose of the Pupil Deprivation Grant (PDG) is to improve outcomes for learners eligible for free school meals (eFSM) and pupils who have been looked after continuously for more than six months. (LAC).
Interventions are planned by successful schools that concentrate on improving the attainment of children eligible for free school meals or who are LAC.
In Llanidloes High School we have planned the interventions that make the most effective use of resources and we monitor and evaluate the impact of those resources.
Llanidloes High School has a detailed School Spending Plan which is agreed and monitored by Powys Local Education Authority and ERW, to improve attainment and lower barriers to learning for pupils eligible for this funding.
The funding available will be used to:
* Provide targeted pupils with coaching and mentoring opportunities to raise attainment in literacy and numeracy.
* Provide after-school intervention opportunities under the direction of an appointed learning coach and mentor.
* Providing a Talkabout for Children programme to develop self-awareness and self-esteem.
* Support other activities for eligible pupils including school visits, extracurricular activities and clubs.
